Visit to Mary Seacole Library, Birmingham City University, Edgbaston campus
Thursday 17th July 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm
An opportunity to visit this stunning new library - one of the largest specialist health libraries in the country. As well as admiring the building there will also be the chance to learn about the range of electronic support offered to students, including the LiveReader, which allows a document to be digitally captured and the text then read aloud.

Web 2 and Other Emerging Technologies

Speaker Phil Bradley will look at topics such as weblogs, RSS, wikis, creating portal pages, social bookmarking and online file storage. Cost: £75 (£60 for Aslib members) for whole day; £45 (£35 for Aslib members) for morning or afternoon session - NB. We have 8 free places for Aslib members willing to serve on the Branch committee for 1 year
